2019-11-05 Pastor’s Briefing – Excerpt

Welcome

Good afternoon!

Devotional

In Mark 3:20-35 we find in Jesus’ example the passion we should have as His disciples. In Mark 3:20-21, we see Jesus’ singleminded focus on doing God’s will, to the point that He forgot about eating.

In Mark 3:22-30, the scribes slandered Jesus, but we find in Jesus’ response, the power, the force, we have as His disciples – it comes from obeying the will of God.

In Mark 3:31-35, Jesus says that his family is truly those who do the will of God.

Simply put, the disciples is devoted to doing the will of God!

Thus there is a simply question: are you devoted to doing God’s will?

Recap

We thank God for His blessings on our church. Last Thursday night’s prayer meeting was a special time as we again focused on interceding for lost family members and friends. We enjoyed God’s presence and the fellowship of our brothers and sisters together.

On Friday night, we had a good time with children and young people. We want to thank God especially for speaking to the teens about their need of a Savior.

On Sunday, we enjoyed good times of worship together. In the morning message, I preached about the seriousness of sin. Thank God for His grace that rescues us from sin. We had a good group who went to Caribbean Haven to minister to the people there. In our evening service, we talked about the passion of the disciple – to do the will of God.

Announcements

This Thursday is our quarterly business meeting. We will have a short Bible study and time of prayer before our business meeting. See you there!

Friday, of course, is youth night, and we look forward to another wonderful night with our kids.

On Sunday morning we will focus in prayer for the Cayman Islands on this Remembrance Day weekend.

Then, Monday evening, we will begin a week of revival services with Pastor Joe Trussell of El Dorado Springs, MO COGH. We invite you to come nightly, Monday through Friday, at 7:30 p.m. for these special services.

Then, on Sunday, November 11th, we will mark Red Bay COGH’s 46th anniversary. Pastor Joe Trussell will again minister to us from God’s Word. After the morning service, we will have a lunch at the fellowship hall. In the evening, we will have a time of songs and testimony at 6:00 p.m.

Final Challenge

Please continue to pray for real revival in RB COGH. Pray that God would help us to make disciples who make disciples!
